:@BB & 123F: As it was mentioned already, both wikifyers still require serious tidying - I made that just as illustration of idea. But now it would be very desirable to rewrite them in a more proffessional manner. What do you think about that, BB? (tia) :)

Kukubatschumunuluku (1995)

Hello Senv, I just wanted to ask you where you found the year of the album? I just wanted to let you know that the album was released by the band as self release without label, sold at concerts etc. But it was an official release so to say... so I'd like to remove the unofficial note on the album page. Ok? Sadly I lost my digital version of the album years ago, else I could finish it... Greetings, --Fassbrause (talk) 20:54, April 4, 2016 (UTC)

  1. I thought that my note states exactly the same (album was self-released), but thanks anyway for letting me know that "for sure" :)
  2. I thought that expression "date presumptive" should have meant that I failed to find any reliable info about this release date, so I'm slightly confused - why are you asking me about that nevertheless?
  3. I thought also that any release can't be considered as official, if there's no any info about its release available on any public source. But if you do know that this release is official, - feel free to reedit this note as you like, or just remove it - it was used just to note that release date is unreliable - this album was the last, still remaining a member of Category:Album art without album, and I was just eager to clean this cat finally... :)

Sorry to create confusion - I simply meant to let you know it was an official (no bootleg or sth like that) album like the other, self-released. I was just eager why 1995 Wink. The Myspace album listing has 1997 as release date (not the best source, but at least one), I changed the page to it and removed the note. PS: I know it blocked the category for so long and I was sad that I couldn't find the date in the first run. --Fassbrause (talk) 22:35, April 4, 2016 (UTC)

SWMV

If you don't mind me butting in on admin discussion - there's a distinction between songs that have a youtube embed or other video, and songs that actually have a music video. Often the YT video is audio-only, or a fan-made video. Even if you want to count the latter as a "music video", an audio-only upload, even if it's on an official channel, I don't think can be categorized as a "music video". My suggestion would be naming the category differently, because it's probably not worth the work to mark embeds that are actual official music videos. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 01:22, April 8, 2016 (UTC)

That's rather semantic or linguistic question, and though I don't see any serious semantic conflicts between this (hypothetical for a while) cat title and content, I agree that some "widening" of SWMV definition by changing its name, might make sense. Do you have some particular suggestion for such renaming? --Senvaikis (talk) 07:27, April 8, 2016 (UTC)
"Songs With Video Links"? At least technically true, even for audio with stills images, not Stephen. — 6×9 (Talk) 20:39, April 8, 2016 (UTC)
That sounds good to me. Or "Songs With Embedded Videos"/"Songs With Video Embeds" if you want to be a bit sadistic on the typing :P. ~Bobogoobo (talk) 01:43, April 9, 2016 (UTC)
Not all videos are embedded though – {{vimeo}} and {{videodm}} just produce links. — 6×9 (Talk) 07:18, April 9, 2016 (UTC)
+1 4 SWVL. --Senvaikis (talk) 08:13, April 9, 2016 (UTC)

After-fishing news

Well, seems ES may finally release his fingers, after being crossed for so long :).
I think I even slightly exceeded (for my own surprise) my promises, by adding iTunes Wikifyer to the promised MB Wikifyer. Both are in the draft stage yet and still require serious improvement, but both are suitable already for testing imo.
I'd like to emphasize one not very obvious thing: both these addons are something more than just wikifyers - actually they may be used as very handy and useful tool in the holy war with OS. I hope you understand that after testing them, but for a while - just believe me and my experience at working with Lwt.
So, please start testing addons and let me know about all the bugs you'll definitely find. Or just try testing pages on my teporarily test host, to understand what I'm speaking about.
One more unexpected note about these addons - both may be used independently from LW, just as web-pages on your host site or just on your desktop!. So, you may simply save this html page on your computer and use it as a standalone local "wikifyer" :). Should say that was a big surprise for me - I do remember that not so long ago such things have been impossible due to crossdomain requests restrictions. Or, if you are lenient to do that by yourself - just watch this demo :).

I did just a quick test on your external page: Itunes doesn't work for me. I enter some artist & album but the page doesn't show any results besides "Searching iTunes...". The MB demo works though and I like it. Sometimes it seems to be stuck while retrieving the track list, so I had to click one entry in the result list several times to get it to work.
Minor improvements you might like too:
  • The enter key should start the search
  • Maybe include an album art fetcher in the future; benefits: Correctly named AA, the source is credited & correct size.
What I would like to use your wikifyers to in the future:
  • Fetch track lists (& album art?) for albums; similar to Special:Wikify; maybe your tools can be incorporated into the page, so every user can benefit from it?
  • Retrieve the Itunes IDs for albums & songs; It is a hassle at the moment and most of the time I ignore IT because of its walled garden approach
  • Retrieve the correct cap for albums & songs
