Hi, thank you for letting me know this! I'm still learning my way around Wikia. :) --CalMillbo (talk) 10:24, April 7, 2015 (UTC)

You are welcome! And right here one more advice for a future: keep conversation on the same thread it was started :)

Hasse Fröberg And Musical Companion

Hi Senvaikis, could you please send Lwt for fixing misspelled song pages by Hasse Fröberg And Musical Companion? Thx,  · Lichtweber talk service  19:35, April 9, 2015 (UTC)

Could you be more specific, please?--Senvaikis (talk) 20:20, April 9, 2015 (UTC)
P.S. If I'm right, "misspelling fix" means moving all songs and entire artist page into new namespace - "Hasse Fröberg & Musical Companion". Then hardly Lwt will help, - if you haven't noticed yet, it has encountered serious problems with lw.api. Sadly I don't have spare time to solve this prob right now (if it's solvable at all)... Sorry. --Senvaikis (talk) 20:42, April 9, 2015 (UTC)

Hello Senv, a new user managed to create above list, which I regard as spam but am unable to delete myself. I hope you can help :) Greetings, --Fassbrause (talk) 22:57, April 15, 2015 (UTC)

Hi Senvaikis,

You modified Justin(e) page yesterday, could you tell me the reason you removed both split (Diego Pallavas and Santa Cruz) ?

Thank you ! — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Melchizedech (talkcontribs).

Sure, wih a little correction to your question, 'cause both deletions have been caused by a multiple reasons:
 1. both albums were mistitled (attributed to Justin(e)) - that's a violation of LW pagenaming policy
 2. tracklists of both albums were incomplete - one more violation of LW policy
 3. finally, both albums were lyricless (empty in terms of LW) - not recommended, to put it mildly
Usually I'm trying to fix mistakes like #1 & #2, but #3 makes such correction senseless. Resume - try better to provide at least some lyrics for albums you will create in the future ;)
And the last note: please, start a new discussion with a section (usually -subject of your msg) and sign it at the end, using four symbols "~" (or click special button Button sig, titled "Your signature with timestamp", available on edit window toolbar)

Right Place for Galleries?

Hi Senvaikis, Thanks for correcting the formating on Hidden Tracks of Nox Arcana!

You've removed the gallery from Darklore Manor. What is the reason? Or what's the appropriate way to set up a gallery for an album? --Weha (talk) 17:49, April 21, 2015 (UTC)

The main reason is very simple: redundancy. LW is a lyrics-dedicated site and we should concentrate our efforts mostly on lyrics-related info, not overloading LW with additional, lyrics-unrelated stuff (full-discography data, bio, reviews, images, video, audio files etc), leaving it for sites like musicbrainz, discogs, wp, youtube, instagram etc. That's why we have a wide set of standardized external links, implemented on LW.
Two additional reminders for the future:
 • image size shouldn't exceed 500x500px;
 • albumart image should contain mandatory template AlbumCover in its description

Jeremy Dooley vs Achievement Hunter

I see you deleted the page Jeremy Dooley:Game Failed (2015) due to it being by Achievement Hunter, which I would agree with due to the artwork for it, but Achievement Hunter is a company like Rooster Teeth (well it's part of RT), which was also deleted in the past due to not being an artist, as per LW policy. So I'm not sure where the song/album should be credited to, as Achievement Hunter is the credit, but Jeremy Dooley is the only artist for the song. Patzilla777 (talk) 14:38, April 25, 2015 (UTC)

Should confess I didn't delve deeply into this issue while deleting an album: as you've noticed already, decision was based only on album cover - my bad. Thus I'd be appreciated if you took your own decision, which artist should be choosed as the page-owner. My apologies - --Senvaikis (talk) 15:14, April 25, 2015 (UTC)
No apology needed, it was a difficult decision for me to decide when I created the pages in the first place. I'll go ahead and recreate the album page then ;) Patzilla777 (talk) 15:19, April 25, 2015 (UTC)

Collaboration Album

How should I go about creating an album page for a collaboration album called ¡MursDay! by the artists ¡Mayday! and Murs? Thank you.

--Ordizzle (talk) 23:21, May 4, 2015 (UTC)

Hi, see the documentation of AlbumCollaboration. Hope that helps,  · Lichtweber talk service  01:14, May 5, 2015 (UTC)
@O:Regardless of the album type - it's just a container for the main LW content - lyrics. I'd never help to create a new album if weren't sure it will be filled-up with lyrics, thus please, don't disappoint my expectations ;) The same should be said about other albums, created by you (1, 2, 3, 4...). Hope you'll turn blue all their red-links :).
tia, and happy editting, --Senvaikis (talk) 16:01, May 5, 2015 (UTC)
Whew, glad to see those albums are still there. I'll get to adding lyrics as time permits. (I bounce back and forth between wiki projects from time to gime, such as Wikimapia, Here, or Google MapMaker).
In other news though, I've attempted to clean up the ¡Mursday! album. Most of the songs already had lyrics pages on one or both of either ¡Mayday!'s or Murs's Other Songs tabs. I'm not sure if I used the Mergeto and Mergefrom template correctly in those cases, but each one of my new lyrics pages for the ¡Mursday! album has been flagged for deletion by the Lwt program. Ordizzle (talk) 01:19, May 14, 2015 (UTC)

Right and wrong pages of Александр Градский

Hi!THis page not right: Александр Градский on english is Alexander Gradsky, not Aleksandr Gradskiy. The right page is already exist. Place your texts on it. Hi! I recommed this site with texts Kolobrod81 (talk) 08:27, May 11, 2015 (UTC)
Hi, Kolobrod
 • @mistitles: next time try to solve such issue by yourself - just redirect mistitled page(s) (see Help:Redirect, or (when job appears to be too tedious) - just mark artist pages for a merge (use templates Mergefrom & Mergeto for that).
 • @lyrics: thx, but you should have notice, that Lwt used exactly this site as a source for АГ lyrics already... ;) Anyways, all bot-uploaded lyrics should be rechecked/fixed by human to make it LW-compliant. Leaving this job for you...:)
Thanks for collab, and happy editing --Senvaikis (talk) 09:16, May 11, 2015 (UTC)

One question:

Why those texts which you upload not display on foobar2000, it was my main purpose, listen music and see texts. Others texts my version of foobar display from Kolobrod81 (talk) 09:40, May 11, 2015 (UTC)

You should ask this Q foobar2000's developers, not LW. I don't use fb, thus can't judge. All I know is that LW lyrics visibility on any api shouldn't be dependent on uploader account :)
Btw, - please, place your sig at the end of your msgs. --Senvaikis (talk) 10:05, May 11, 2015 (UTC)

Chris de Burgh songs @ Belleruche page

Hi Senv, Lwt inserted Belleruche as artist on several Chris de Burgh song pages years ago and now they show in the OS section of Belleruche. I'm not sure about this being right, so you might want to check. And while we're at it: wouldn't it be appropriate to remove redundant CdB's Best Ofs and compilation albums? Got this message:

Bobby O:Twilight Of The Masses (2014) on LyricWikia has been edited. Check it out! Senvaikis warning: once more - study lw docs or ask; no edit wars!

However, I read this in the docs:

"The capitalization of artist names, album and song titles is simply that the first letter of each word should be capitalized whether it is normally capitalized by the artist or not."

And, when I create a page like "X of the Y" instead of "X Of The Y" I get an error message about the name. So, I changed it to "X Of The Y", and now you changed it back again, even warning me.

So, what is the policy? How is it supposed to be? Can you point me to a page with the answer?

--Rickjansen (talk) 21:48, May 14, 2015 (UTC) rick

Hi, Rick
First of all let's settle our terms in more details.
Yes, LW:PageNaming policy strictly requires all inicaps in pagetitles, and this rule doesn't have any exceptions.
But any LW link to such page is a two-part compositon, consisting of:
 • first part (before pipe), - it's actually the link to a page and therefore should strictly match the page title, thus should be always capitalized
 • second part (after pipe) - that's just the display-part of the link (it determines how the link displays on the page). As you positively know, it may differ from the text of the link. In other words, this part of link isn't an object of LW:PN capitalization, thus may (and should) be formatted according national capitalization rules of particular language.

Bad Blood

Hello, right now the remix of Taylor Swift's song Bad Blood is at number one on the iTunes charts, but the homepage links to the original. Is there any way you can fix this? --CalMillbo (talk) 23:43, May 18, 2015 (UTC)

done Done, though I'm not sure that's exactly what you asked me to do (this "job" didn't require any admin powers) :) --Senvaikis (talk) 05:06, May 19, 2015 (UTC)
I think he was talking about the link on LyricWiki:Top 100, as that links to the original version of Bad Blood as opposed to the remix. Patzilla777 (talk) 14:52, May 19, 2015 (UTC)

Thx, Patrick, - you just confirmed my suspicions :). Nothing strange that I haven't understood, what a "home" CalMillbo was talking about - haven't visited this page for ages, and truth to tell, ain't going to visit/manage it in the future also... :) --Senvaikis (talk) 18:35, May 19, 2015 (UTC)

That's a feed we get from iTunes, nothing we add manually. To avoid loads of red links all titles are sanitized, i.e. inicapped and stripped of suffixes like "(feat. xxx)". So "Taylor Swift:Bad blood (feat. Kendrick Lamar)" becomes "Taylor Swift:Bad blood ". — 6×9 (Talk) 17:26, May 23, 2015 (UTC)

Matt Cardle

Hi, True, Matt Cardle hasn't released his new album "Higher Power" yet - but the songs do exist, as does the album title. Please please, don't remove the lyrics. He premiered them live on Wednesday, May 20th, at The Lowry in Salford. As you can see, there are matching (and even correct) videos found in the side bar. Thank you :) --Michaela Julia (talk) 17:01, May 23, 2015 (UTC)

Hi, Michaela,
and relax please - I'm not going to remove any songs, - just the page for album can't be created before an official release date (any info avail. yet). As soon as it happens, you may recreate this page, or I'll do that for you - I promise, - with all required info (mb, dog, iT etc...) :)

Brazilian portuguese

Hello. A user called Waldir separate the languages in Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese. For me that's Ok, but some songs I translated using brazilian portuguese but there's only the category Category:Song Translations/Portuguese, and I guess I have to change my translations to brazilian portuguese. I only have to change catogory or do something more? 'cause i really don't know. Thank you. Songsbr (talk) 19:00, May 23, 2015 (UTC)

done (Category:Song Translations/Brazilian Portuguese created, Language modified to show properly the English name of Português do Brasil). Now lang.code "pt-br" should work properly in TranslatedSong - try it and let me know if smth'll go wrong. --Senvaikis (talk) 19:52, May 23, 2015 (UTC)
It's working great. Thank you. Songsbr (talk) 20:02, May 23, 2015 (UTC)

Hello. How can I add another brazilian artist called Adriana here? There's Adriana. There's two Adrianas in brazil, one is a gospel singer who started her carrer in 1994 link and the other is a pop singer who started her carrer in 1967 link. I don't how to add, 'cause if I add Adriana (BR) for the pop singer will not be correct. Songsbr (talk) 17:47, May 24, 2015 (UTC)

If Adriana (BR) is really unacceptable for some reasons (truth to tell, I dont know them), then I'd suggest to follow pt:wp and move current Adriana page to Adriana Arydes, releasing such way Adrianas name for cantora brasileira. --Senvaikis (talk) 19:30, May 24, 2015 (UTC)
Thank you again =) Songsbr (talk) 20:16, May 24, 2015 (UTC)

Of Monsters and Men

The official capitalization of the album names appears to be to capitalize every word. That's how it's done by Record Records. Their own store also does this, all except for "Live from Vatnagarðar". Linkdude20002001 (talk) 08:37, May 26, 2015 (UTC)

If you are speaking about inicaps in titles, then yes, - LW:PN policy also requires initial letters to be capitalized in the page title for all artists/albums/songs. And all the OMaM albums are titled strictly following this policy. Maybe your question was caused by links display text, which may differ from the link text? Then see also two main our standard sources: wp Wikipedia16 & Kingnee - Musicbrainz mb.
--Senvaikis (talk) 10:23, May 26, 2015 (UTC)

I'm not sure if community-maintained encyclopedias are the best source... LyricWikia rules say for album titles: "This parameter does not have to follow LyricWiki's page naming policy. Instead, it should follow the "official" album title capitalization as closely as possible.". For song titles it says: "The text after the pipe character determines how the link displays on the artist page. This should adhere to the "official" capitalization as used by the artist.". Wikipedia doesn't use official capitalization. What I remember them doing is using either the most grammatically "correct" capitalization or the most commonly used capitalization; "Official doesn't matter if no one uses it". My source for the quotations. Linkdude20002001 (talk) 21:38, May 26, 2015 (UTC)

Bot find songs by Michelle Nolan?

Hi, I've seen your bot working miracles finding songs, so I was wondering if Lwt could do this for Michelle Nolan's Album "Tell aAll Your Friends" (2002)? I'd be so thankful ...  · Lichtweber talk service  20:31, May 26, 2015 (UTC)

LW, can it be that you just confused the artist of said album? You know of the album with the same name and the identical tracklist by Taking Back Sunday, the album where is she is the background singer on 2 songs? I can't find any official source for the album you created over at her page...

Invalid Links categories

Hi Senv!

I think the following idea was actually Chris', a long time ago… Instead of having a separate "Invalid XXX Link" category for each site, it might be simpler to have one cat & identify site by sortname. So if a page had an invalid MusicBrainz link it would be sorted under "M". (There'll be some clashes, like Amazon/Allmusic, so we'd have to choose a different letter/symbol for one of them.) Only downside is that a page with several invalid params will only appear under 1 key…
Is that something Lwt could work with? — 6×9 (Talk) 10:48, June 7, 2015 (UTC)
The latter circumstance is actually not so minor - don't know about 2A, but for Lwt it'd lead to noticeable inconvenience: it would need an extra category recheck to be sure that page was really removed from category after some link fix. Your opinion?
(btw - what would be the task for Lwt if we decided to make this change?)--Senvaikis (talk) 17:50, June 7, 2015 (UTC)
No additional task – "just" reprogramming its current task of checking for invalid cats. Anyway, major inconvenience for Lwt beats minor (if at all) inconvenience for human users in this case, I think. (No one's complained yet! That's what NonEmptyCat is for after all.)
I got a btw as well: does Lwt regularly parse invalid cats for members, or does it check Recent & NewPages? Or both? — 6×9 (Talk) 18:26, June 7, 2015 (UTC)
Shame on me, but actualy neither: Lwt practically doesn't use any kind of regular/systematic invalid cats checking. The limited list of mentioned NonEmptyCats in Lwt/Daily page - that's almost all the Lwts' (my) "scope of view". I'd be apreciated for any idea of possible Lwts' IQ improvement :) --Senvaikis (talk) 18:50, June 7, 2015 (UTC)

Song Title

Hi, Senvaikis.

I'm new here so I'm sorry for causing you some troubles (correcting what I created etc.)
I saw that you'd changed the song title here, "receive a revelation" into "Receive A Revelation" for example. May I edit it sothat it would display as "receive a revelation"? (the original title written like that). Oh and I would still keep the link (the page name) as "Receive A Revelation". Acorrding to the rules here, that is allowed (the example STRENGTH/Strength of Abingdon Boys School), but I want to ask for your confirmation.--Kikusa (talk) 20:39, June 11, 2015 (UTC)
I just saw that another admin edited the display of song title again, even though the page name was correct already. Is it something allowed by the rules but I shouldn't?--Kikusa (talk) 20:44, June 11, 2015 (UTC)
Hi, Kikusa,
first of all - thanks for your understanding and corrections to the uploaded images. The last detail you still should pay more attention is the image size limit (500x500px).
Now about pagenaming and capitalization.
 • Seems you don't have any problems with our LW:PN rule, requiring to capitalize the first letter of every word in the artist/album/song page title, and accordingly - the first part (before the pipe) of link to that page. Just I want to remind you, that remaining part of this text usually should not be capitalized (that's a common mistake of our Japanese users)
 • Display text of the link (a part after the pipe) may (and desirably - should) be capitalized according to capitalization rules of particular language, used in that title. I italized the "language" to emphasize the fact that capitalization is language-, not release country-dependent. So, the same album tracklist may contain links with their display text, capitalized according different capitalization rules. And if Japanese album contains songs, titled in English - please, apply English capitalization rules for them. That's why another admin also corrected the display part of link to Embrace. You may find these rules here.
 • receive a revelation - wrong (policy violation)
 • RECEIVE A REVELATION - wrong (policy violation)
 • Receive A Revelation - wrong (policy violation)
 • Receive A Revelation - admissible, but not perfect
 • Receive a Revelation - perfect
hth, --Senvaikis (talk) 09:05, June 12, 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for your detailed explanation. Now I understand, I will follow the capitalization rules.
And sorry for the artist images (larger than 500x500 px, I forgot, my bad). --Kikusa (talk) 14:19, June 12, 2015 (UTC)

Renard and all the aliases

Hi Senv, I just came across Renard and all his aliases and I saw that you've been involved in these pages, so I wanted to learn your take on this.

A wise old-young man ;) once told me that one of LW's principles is: "One artist, one page" (btw. I agree, but where is it written in our docs? Maybe we should add sth. to the artist help page?).

So I was wondering how we can apply this rule to those pages, given that it will be a huge list on one page. Please let me know your thoughts, thx  · Lichtweber talk service  12:28, June 15, 2015 (UTC)

That's indeed not the first time I'm being asked about this artist, but I a)hardly became much wiser since then and b)definitely didn't become an expert of Renard's works;)
Thus I still think we should find someone, who knows the issue better. I respect the principles of LW (including those, formulated by myself or even existing only in my own consciousness ;)), but most of our principles finally are nothing more than just a logic instruments for LW searchability increasing. And if someone'd tell me some persuasive reasons, a)why should we create a separate pages (or subpages) for some Renard's aliases, and b)how that'd increase LW searchability, I'm ready for discussion and maybe even for making some exceptions for such "champs of aliases". But for a while I haven't heard yet any kind of such arguments...
Btw, the question of artist page formatting isn't as simple even for artists with one or two aliases. And some details of this formatting also aren't written in our docs... But let's leave that for a while - unfortunately, don't have enough spare time for more details atm.
cul --Senvaikis (talk) 17:47, June 15, 2015 (UTC)
P.S. Don't know if Sno.lukav is really a collab or just one of R alias, but it definitely can't be a collab and an alias simultaneously...
Acc 2 mb it's one of his aliases and many of his others are as well noted as collab or featured artists. Maybe this is his game ...  · Lichtweber talk service  20:23, June 15, 2015 (UTC)

Hello Senvaikis. Earlier today I saw you had deleted the album Kitsune² (2007) off of Renard's page for the reason of "Redundant release: ...if real at all" and had "any reliable info avail" written next to it. If you were asking for information about the album, then I believe I may be able to help you with it. I can see where you would believe how the album would be redundant or even a fake in that the songs found on it would appear across his later albums. However the new songs are remixed versions of the old album in question, such as the song Free which can also be found as a remix on the STRIKER! (2008) album. The old album was previously released by VULPvibe under the alias Kitsune², but since VULPvibe was replaced with LapFoxTrax, the older albums have become harder to find. My point is, that album did indeed exist but was later removed during the change in label, but the songs could all be found later as remixes on his later albums. I guess it is still up to you whether the album should be deleted since you have spent much more time with editing than I have, but I just wanted to inform you of the info I have come to know about the subject. - (Slayer the Black Wolf (talk) 19:36, June 22, 2015 (UTC))

Thanks for info, Slayer, and I do believe you could provide even more arguments, proving the existence of mentioned release. But actually these arguments are redundant also, since this release didn't contain any song, unavailable on other releases, i.e. - was redundant in LW terms (as well as some other releases on this artist page, I suspect). --Senvaikis (talk) 21:06, June 22, 2015 (UTC)
Well I just wanted to inform you of my knowledge. I'm new to editing so I am not aware of all the rules, but in your deletion report it seemed like you were requesting information on the album. And sorry for all the redundancies, but thank you for hearing what I had to say anyway. Apparently when I made an edit to my previous post by adding a new topic to the top, it never deleted it from the old topic it was under. (Slayer the Black Wolf (talk) 21:13, June 22, 2015 (UTC))

Hi again, Slayer.

Now, while reading my yesterday's response, it seems to me too short & strict, if not rude - it was a late night in Vilnius and perhaps I was too tired - my apologies. The main thing I've missed yesterday was to mention one evident fact - seems you are exactly the person we were looking for - your perfect knowledge of this artist works may be very useful to help Lichtweber, tidying this complicated artist page. Would you mind to help him in this tricky task?
Many thanks for your contribution and help, --Senvaikis (talk) 05:17, June 23, 2015 (UTC)
Don't worry about it. Though I do know about the artist (for he was the reason I made a profile on here in the first place) I would hardly say my knowledge is perfect. Even so, I'd love to help Lichweber with this task. To be honest, I find it an honor to be asked for help by someone who has as much experience as yourself. Though I fear I do not know where to begin on fixing his page and have little knowledge on how to properly edit the pages. But I will try to help out as best I can anyway. - (Slayer the Black Wolf (talk) 05:46, June 23, 2015 (UTC))

Hello again Senvaikis. I have stumbled upon an album by Renard found here that was later "remastered" with all the old songs and contained new songs as well. Since the remastered album has the same songs as remastered versions plus unreleased songs, should the previous album be flagged for deletion or added to the list of Renard's music? I also found the same thing with this being remastered here. This seems to be the same kind of problem as with the Kitsune² album, so I leave it up to you whether or not it should be deleted. (Slayer the Black Wolf (talk) 00:34, June 24, 2015 (UTC))

What have we started from - redundancy? Don't you think that my further participation in Renard's editing may create one more kind of redundancy? ;). Well, this time I'll try to replace Lichtweber in the role of your assistent, though I'm sure he'd made that better :)
Let's take a look at our docs - here's a quote from it: "Any album differences due to various regional releases, deluxe editions, or limited editions are best noted on the regular album page".
So, if some album has been remastered or rereleased as some limited/anniversary/special/deluxe/expanded edition, we should not create a separate page for it even if it contains some additional tracks or has remarkably different tracklist. All this additional info may/should be appended to the original release page (in detailed manner, with possible alternative albumart images, tracklists etc) and on artist page (in concise form).
I made some changes to artist and album pages just as illustration to this approach. I'm sure you'll find a lot of similar samples on LW by yourself :)

Thank you for all your help. I appreciate it greatly. I will try and help clean up Renard's music as soon as possible. - (Slayer the Black Wolf (talk) 21:08, June 24, 2015 (UTC))
