Regex chart

Let me disagree: [h] matches just single lowercase character "h"

Construction "h or no h" is roundly strange:

  • if it should mean "zero or one occurrence of char h" then matching pattern may be written as "[h]?", or just h?
  • if it should mean "char h or any other, not h, char", then initial pattern should look like [h]|[^h], but this construction logically is equivalent to any char, so it may be written just as "."

OK, I thought I had read that recently, but there's enough other material to fill in xD - Chris 04:17, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
