Pandorum

Think I don't understand this rating/certificate thing completely. Let's start with something simple: Adding an artist: 'Pandorum' From my point of view this look not so bad. Who has to do what now do get at least a bronze status here. Don't think that "I" can just change the color in the file and it's done. For the album and song it should work in a similar way I suppose? I checked the FAQ but I did'nt found an example there.--Icecubeyt (talk) 17:15, March 16, 2013 (UTC)

Pandorum isn't the simplest case to be taken as a sample for learning due to disambiguation problems (there are at least 2 Pandorums). I've made some edition, resolving disambig probs, but still not sure if such page may be ranked bronze - couldn't find any info about album...
sry, must leave now, - see you later
That's me again, - to continue about Pandorum, disambuguation etc :)
Here some details I just haven't time to mention about in previous msg:
  • as you've possibly noticed, I reverted one of your last editions, retitling songs back to Pandorum:*. We can keep actual artist name in both song and album page titles. That's, however, lead to some kind of puzzle with additional parameters in templates {{Song}}, {{Album}}, {{albumcover}} (see using artist in artist, Alias in album, alias & albumartist in song an finally - albumartist in albumcover
  • additional notes: use {{Youtube embed}} instead of uploading videos
  • avoid to use any html, wiki markup or additional notations, such as (chorus), {chorus}, [chorus], [verse] etc.
damn, again must leave, but that was almost all I wanted to say this time... :) --Senvaikis (talk) 20:01, March 16, 2013 (UTC)
So I chose the right example for you ;-) Think my, and likely others, problem is that the templates don't show what shoud be in (e.g. ReberbNation), or take the youtube upload option - if it's there it will be usesd. But OK, I'm struggeling with two things:
1) Verse/Chorus/Bridge deleted, that's very important for me because I focus on Bridge songs from the structure point of view, it tells a lot about a song - is there any solution to keep this info?
2) YouTube window to small, can't read the lyrics on the screen anymore - is there an option for that, maybe we place the video on top of the lyrics. Needless to say these are my videos ...

  1. Current song page formatting policy (telling to avoid additional notations) isn't very friendly to your needs then, but on the other hand, - that doesn't mean forbidding such notation. I just can't recall when and where, but I'm sure I've seen some discussion about that formerly. Maybe my "hyper-strictness" was based on resume of this discussion... As for me personally, I don't see a big crime in such notation (but necessarilly- without [] brackets), though can't say I'd like such idea...;) You may want to rise a discussion @Community Portal about that - my personal opinion isn't a policy :).
  2. That's not a big problem imo - any user may open a new window/tab with a video on youtube, - that's only one simple click on embedded yt :)
