Laura Pausini, LW pagenaming, file uploading etc

Hi, Cauac,

first of all I wanted to thank you for your contribution to LW. Now let me remind you some basic LW rules you should know and follow:
  1. LyricWiki:Page Names requires all inicaps in pagetitles, but display part of the link to a page (part after pipe) should follow capitalisation rules of particular language. In other words, you should not capitalise all the words in display part of italian, french, spanish etc titles. Thus it would be very nice if you walked through all your editions and reverted your revisions with inproper capitalisation, as was done here.
  2. When page title is questionable due to different info on different sources, the best decision is pagenaming, based on album cover info. That's why I was forced to revert your editions, restoring Se fue->Se fué and Grandes Éxitos->Grandes Exitos (take a look at albums GE & GH back-covers).
  3. "No lyrics" - that's one of main reasons for song page deletion, thus try to refrain from empty pages creating.
  4. Album art image should be placed on artist page using template {{Album Art}}, not [[File]].
  5. Image size is restricted to 500x500px. Any image with a higher resolution may be deleted.
  6. All albumart images should contain template {{Albumcover}} with mandatory fields info filled-in.
  7. And finally - most important note - please avoid rereverting other users editions without discussing them with their author. Repetitive manner of such rerevertings (edit wars) may lead to account suspension. That's why I decided to write these notes instead of further reediting Laura Pausini.
Feel free to ask, if you have any questions, and happy editing, -Senvaikis (talk) 11:39, January 15, 2014 (UTC)

Great, thanks for your directions, I'll follow them and make the suggested changes today.

Question? which is the best part for making questions about editing? Here?

Wanna tell you, I'm an English - Spanish translator, specialized on Spanish, my mother language; that's why I'm completely sure "Se Fue" does not have accent, even when that mistake is also on the back cover of the Greatest Hits (notice it is correct on "Laura Pausini (1994). What would suggest?

Again, thanks for your help and guide.

L Cauac. 186.147.46.118 14:20, January 15, 2014 (UTC)

Another thing, some time ago, when we used typewriters, it was allowed not to put accents in Spanish only when the world was in CAPITALS; they stayed over the letter.

That exception is still used by some, but it's an error, as in "GRANDES ÉXITOS". It's a shame, but I have to say that booklets are not good guides for orthographic rules. I notice many error on them, that I correct according to the Spanish Ortografic Rules, given by the authority on the matter, the RAE (Real Academia de la Lengua Española ( or Spanish Language Royal Academy)

May I capitalise all the words in display part of English titles? I noticed you didn't change them; only Spanish, Italian and French ones.

In Spanish, in titles you must capitalise "content words", the ones with "deep meaning" and avoid capitalizing short connecting words, as (with, the, on… (con, el, la, los, las, en, entre…))

another question. I guess I updated properly the info referring to in which cds the song appear, on "One More Time", "Un'Emergenza D'Amore" and "Ascolta il Tuo Cuore", but after publishing, the new discs "20 - Grandes Exitos" and "20 - The Greatest Hits" not appeared, why?

Well, let's start from the beginning:
  • (best places for questions about lw-editing):
    • Help Desk (be sure you've checked FAQ before posting a new question)
    • talk-pages of other experienced users or admins (my talk-page, f.e.)
  • (best place for answering to other user questions/notes):
    • Always try to keep conversation where it has been started
  • (mistitled songs/albs)
    • all songpages should be titled as close as possible to original tracknames, used on album. If album tracklist contains a simple (unintended) orphographic mistake, then correct title should be used. But some "mistakes" may be made intentionally, and sometimes such "mistitled" trackname may become more well-known than correct one, turning such way some kind of "official". The main criterium for determination which version should be used in such case becomes a searchability of page. In any case, two things may be extremelly usefull in such cases:
    • making an additional "discrepancy" notes on album page
    • ensuring page searchability by creation "mistitled" page, redirected to the "correctly-titled" page.
    • example: let's take "Grandes Éxitos" vs "Grandes Exitos". Yes, latter is wrong in RAEs point of view, but it's printed on album cover, published on wp, discogs etc etc. So, most likely this album will be searched under that mistitled name. Thus even if you decide to publish album under correct tile (and I'd agree with you), "mistitled" page, redirected to correct place, should be left/created.
  • (May you capitalise all the words in display part of English titles?)
    • No, see mb
  • (Spanish capitalisation rules)
    • No, see MB for rules and es:wp for example.
  • (Dissapearing albs in songHeader): Two mistakes here:
    • SongHeader template {{Song}} may accept maximum 3 albums. For songs with albs count>3 {{AdditionalAlbums}} should be used
    • {{Song}} has only 2 nameless parameters: album and artist (Laura Pausini in your case), and neither can be repeated.
    • example: see fixes, made on "One More Time"

Hi Again, Senvaikis. I've tried to clean up and organize Laura Pausini's wiki… still there's some (lot of) work to do. Hope you can check it and tell me if there's something I could have made better, so I can change that next time I'm back. Sadly, I guess I won't be able to be back on the next days. I'll try, and take into account your suggestions. Thanks for all.

Icon - Stop Hand I was trying to be as friendly and helpful as I could, but now should say: sorry, - my patience isn't limitless. Treat this message as the last warning: any new act of edit war will be followed by your account suspension.

File uploading, {{Album Art}} placement

Hi. I am here to remind you to consult the documentation, as was previously pointed out to you, regarding uploading album art, the naming scheme we use, and how album art template should be used to insert art on artist and album pages. Inserting file links on pages is against policy. Thank you--ES (talk) 03:32, January 13, 2015 (UTC)

how should I add this new cover to "20 - Grandes Éxitos" album?

Reuploading images: What for?

Hi again,

could you please explain what for have you reuploaded almost all images for Laura Pausini? Even if you provide some good reason (please do that), here are some things you should be aware of:
  • avoid reuploading a new version of image without any comments, explaining what makes this version better, compared to previous one
  • avoid reuploading images with a lower resolution or resized with distortions in scale
  • avoid reuploading images without providing a new image source, if previous version source was given
--Senvaikis (talk) 16:57, January 28, 2015 (UTC)

Clearer images, no dust, no box marks on them, no spots, better quality, better resolution, better coloro, better contrasts, better light, differencing "resta in ascolto" and "escucha" covers, taken from official Laura Pausini page, as bigger as they appeared there, most of them are bigger than previous, few are LITTLE smaller, now real black, not grey color (as in The best of and lo mejor de Laura Pausini's coveres, added new delluxe and special lps version coveres matching similarity with all the rests, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc…

SUMMARY:

¡http://lyrics.wikia.com/Laura_Pausini LOOKS NOUW MUCH MORE BETTER!

What's the problem with it--Cauac (talk) 17:00, January 29, 2015 (UTC)

Icon - Stop Hand Look, Cauac, - take my friendly (for a while) advice: if admin (usually - a user, having much more experience, compared to you) is asking you some question, be sure: there is possitively some quite serious reason for that. Thus please, take one more look at these images (1, 2, 3) and try to answer yourself, if your uploads really match all 3 above requirements. And please, - next time try to be more serious while answering, 'cause this your msg looks more like a parody to answer. --Senvaikis (talk) 19:24, January 29, 2015 (UTC)

Aha, sure! --181.135.253.174 01:49, January 30, 2015 (UTC)

Warning

Icon - Stop Hand This is your only warning.
The next time you vandalize/spam a page, you will be blocked from editing LyricWiki.
For administrator reference: the vandalized page was [[:Last revision of Laura Pausini]].

You have until tomorrow to revert your revertion, otherwise you will be blocked from editing.

Some additional remarks:

  • If you ask an admin for advice you should wait for his response before taking action.
  • Please always add editor's notes when reverting edits.
  • Last but not least: You have created multiple accounts. Please choose which one you want to use by the end of next week (2015-March-7). The other one will be suspended.  · Lichtweber talk service  11:38, February 28, 2015 (UTC)

Block notice

Icon - Stop HandEdit warring on Laura Pausini
This has resulted in a 4 weeks suspension of your account by Lichtweber.
Please note that after expiry of the block, after the first vandalizing act you will be blocked without further notice.
If you disagree with this suspension please notify the blocking administrator or the LyricWiki staff by placing {{Unblock|reason=Your Reason Here}} on this page (your talk page).  · Lichtweber talk service  16:15, March 1, 2015 (UTC)

Disagree with my suspension

Your lapses in a nutshell:
  • Edit warring, which means re-reverting edits without discussing them first and find a consensus.
  • Spamming other user's talk pages - you documented your spamming Senv's page quite well.
  • Using an aggressive tone in your conversation
  • Ignoring being blocked by continuing to spam as anon user
Given this list you should consider yourself lucky that you haven't been banned for good.  · Lichtweber talk service  12:51, March 3, 2015 (UTC)

I can hardly believe that you just continue to break LW's rules in spite of being warned several times: In spite of several of Senvakis' kind warnings. In spite of me spelling your violations out for you here on your talk page. In spite of me reverting your spam on my talk page. You just seem totally incapable of reading the signs.

There's only one last advice I can give you now: Take the time to carefully read the hints you were given on your talk page and on the many edit notes. Read our policies. All of them. And really try to understand them.

Only then begin to think about writing anything on LW again. And if you should decide that you need to make another statement on your account's suspension: Think very carefully where and how you release it. Because this will be crucial for us admins to decide wether you may ever be allowed to edit LW again.  · Lichtweber talk service  18:47, March 6, 2015 (UTC)

Welcome back and: Think!

Welcome back Cauac. Please think carefully before undoing an admin's edit -we talked about this. And please do not set up different pages with identical lyrics (Laura Pausini:Radiant, not Laura Pausini:Radiant (Limpido)). Use {{SongHeader}} to indicate several releases and/or {{CreditBox}} for additional info instead.  · Lichtweber talk service  07:39, June 23, 2015 (UTC)

Disagree with my suspension Again

Some Rules for You

Within only one day being back you already violated our rules at least three times: (1), (2), (3). So, technically, I should ban you for more than one month now. But I really think that you're trying to improve LW but still have difficulties to understand how things are done here. This is why, instead of blocking you again, I propose this to you: If you want to be allowed editing LW in the future you'll have to follow these rules until further notice:

  • Do not make edits as anon user ever.
  • Never undo another user's edit without getting their consent.
    • To understand other user's edits, look at the revision of respective page and read the edit summaries.
    • For discussing changes use either the other user's talk page or song talk page
  • Do not redirect pages.
  • Do not rename pages.
  • For now, stick to editing/creating song pages only.
  • Should you have difficulties in understanding rules and statements made in English, please ask other users for help. I'm assuming you're a native Spanish speaker, so maybe you'll find helpful users in these categories: Category:Users from Spain, Category:Users who read Spanish.

We'll see how that works. Should your edits be ok, we can loosen those restrictions in the future.

Only if you agree to those terms I will unblock you. Please post your answer here.  · Lichtweber talk service  11:51, June 24, 2015 (UTC) Btw. "Laura Pausini:Radiant (Limpido" was a typo I made. Of course I meant to write "Laura Pausini:Radiant (Limpido)". But you sure do know that since you're the one who undid my redirect.
