A favor

Hello 6. I was just wondering if it's too much to ask for some help on Aphex Twin's page. Normally I work on artist pages myself, but this is something I may actually need some help on, as he has one of the most confusing discographies I've seen, with countless "Untitled" songs, a slew of EPs that are all over the place, and releases under many different aliases. I'd appreciate if you were to help me with handling the rest of the OS and possibly finding the releases they're on - I already created a bunch of his EPs so I got the number of OS down pretty low, but there's still a few that need to be taken care of.

Also, while we're on the subject, how do we handle artists with excessive aliases? Aphex Twin has a lot of aliases as I already mentioned (according to WP, he has seven), and the way I handled them was just by putting his releases under a different alias using the Alias parameter while still using Aphex Twin as the artist. I assumed that was the right way, but then I realized Polygon Window (one of his aliases) had a separate page already. So I just wanted to clarify that I'm doing this right. XxTimberlakexx (talk) (contribs)02:41, January 4, 2014 (UTC)

I'll look into the rest of the OS when I get a bit more time. As for aliases: ideally there should be only 1 artist page, but songs and albums should use the alias for the pagename. (I've moved & updated one of the AFX EPs; and yes, I know it's a pain.) — 6×9 (Talk) 20:45, January 7, 2014 (UTC)
Really? I never knew it was supposed to be like that... I thought as long as you used the alias tag you didn't need to change the pagename artist. But thank you for helping a little though. I'd really appreciate if you could sort out the OS and move some of his other EPs when you have the time. XxTimberlakexx (talk) (contribs)16:29, January 11, 2014 (UTC)

Band Für Afrika

Hi, is it possible to split the members list in two columns?

And I would like to have a short explanation, what "Band für Afrika" was, under "info". My English is not good enough to do that. --Ignor-the-ant (talk) 09:07, January 8, 2014 (UTC)

done Wikitable inside a template is kinda ugly because you can't use a pipe | directly… I've kept the info rather short; do you think that's enough? — 6×9 (Talk) 21:38, January 8, 2014 (UTC)
Thank you. I think, the info is perfect like that. - --Ignor-the-ant (talk) 04:38, January 9, 2014 (UTC)

Lavis -> Laveerre

Are you sure that this is the right thing to do? For one, said artist only used the Laveerre alias from 2000 to 2003, after which it changed to Lavis in December 2004 with the "Jos Sanat Vois Tappaa" album with Tommishock. He's also more known by the Lavis handle - it's also his current alias (as far as "current" goes with him retiring once again in mid-2012). Zabidenu (talkcontribs) 13:39, January 12, 2014 (UTC)

Also, regarding Shitz0rz (2011): the songs' artists differing between Lavis and Jumal x10 Lavis were intentional, as they appear such in the release. Zabidenu (talkcontribs) 13:42, January 12, 2014 (UTC)
Just look at the number of releases – 14 for Laveerre vs. 4 for Lavis. Considering the huge pita to fix the links with alias, albumartist etc., the best solution is to move the artist page to the alias with the most songs and albums. — 6×9 (Talk) 13:50, January 12, 2014 (UTC)
I'm fully aware of the amounts, but from what I've understood, an artist's page should be located at their current handle. If the only reason to not have the page title as so is due to the workload (from what I've understood, just artist/alias parameters at the song/album pages), I'm up for fixing those. Zabidenu (talkcontribs) 14:32, January 12, 2014 (UTC)
I've never seen such a rule about using the current name. Actually, considering some artists change their handle as easily as their underwear, that would be a Really Bad Idea. (Though the rule about most albums was never codified; I'll have to dig through some old discussions…) — 6×9 (Talk) 14:44, January 12, 2014 (UTC)
Ah, then I must be just recalling it wrong (even though the change to Lavis would make sense in this case, considering how the alias with its variations has been use for 9 years, so no real "changing like underwear" here ;D) Zabidenu (talkcontribs) 14:50, January 12, 2014 (UTC)

How to Proceed?

More than a month has gone by since the admin's answers led to new questions and they are still left without any response. Seriously guys, I don't understand why you don't answer. Quite frankly, this unusual behaviour is beginning to bug me. The admins told us to start a discussion. We did and now you don't even take part?

I am well aware that this proposal is not the only issue the LW administrators have on their plate. That said it is also clear that - now that it's out there - they actually do have it on their plate. I don't know if you see this as a burden or a nuisance? I think this is a great chance to improve this site and help experienced users! Don't you see that? We offered to help, we made suggestions. What more do you expect us to do?

  • Should we let it lie and just forget about it?
  • Should we ignore the current, undocumented (!) site policy and edit as we think would be best?
  • Should we apply for adminship and do all the work ourselves?
  • Any other ideas?  · Lichtweber talk service  17:04, January 26, 2014 (UTC)
Thx for your roadmap! and sry 4 my impatience X-) Should we create it on that long term project page we were talking about earlier? And, would you please help me with my CreditBox drafts, please? I got stuck there. Cheers  · Lichtweber talk service  13:41, February 2, 2014 (UTC)

A little help please?

Hi! I was wondering if you would be able to delete the redirect at La Dispute:A Word Of Welcome And Warning, and then move La Dispute:A Word Of Welcome And Of Warning to there.

According to AllMusic, iTunes, MusicBrainz, Amazon, and BandCamp, the correct title is 'A Word of Welcome and Warning'.

Thank you! -- 123.2.83.220 09:05, February 17, 2014 (UTC)

Question regarding versions of the same song

Hey,

I want to know if different versions of a song should have different pages: for example, in this single from Do As Infinity:Heart (1999).
You can see there is the A-side and the B-side, 2 instrumentals and 3 remixes. Well, I already do a separate page for instrumentals, as it is recommended in the help pages. But I'm not sure what to about with these remixes.
The lyrics are almost identical in the remixes, so just for the sake of the lyrics it's not a problem. But if we want to link the remixes with external links to iTunes, MusicBrainz, etc., a separate page makes sense. And also if the /lrc subpage succeeds (I don't know the status atm) it would make sense since the timings for the lyrics would be different for each song.

On another completely different note, I wanted to know what are the options to swap Do As Infinity:散りゆく夕辺 and Do As Infinity:散り行く夕辺. Because right now, the first page redirects to the second, and it should be the inverse. 散りゆく夕辺 is the correct title as stated on Wikipedia (jp), Musicbrainz, iTunes (jp), Amazon (jp), etc. I know I'm being nitpicky with this matter (both mean the same, one uses hiragana and the other uses kanji), but I just want to have the title correctly according to everything else. :-)

Best regards, Securita (talk) 02:39, February 21, 2014 (UTC)

Hi, Securita,
  • just wanted to affirm that your job on mentioned album page was done perfectly and absolutelly meets LW:PN policy; indeed - separate pages should be created only for songs with essentially different lyrics. If link to specific remix on iT, MB etc is desirable for some reason, it may be added using template {{ExtLink}}, see this post on my talk-page.
  • done, though actually this task could be easily done by yourself.
  • and the last note: it's not recommended to keep any translation on song page, - see Help:Translations
regards, --Senvaikis (talk) 09:15, February 21, 2014 (UTC)
Hey,
Thanks for your response.
Regarding the second matter, I was doing to edit the way you mentioned: edit both and swap the content, but since the history log would be separated, I was reluctant to do so and thought there was a special tool for these cases (like deletion of the wrong redirect, and then another rename, and that would keep the history log complete).
Well, thanks again, and I'll keep on editiong :-) Cheers, Securita (talk) 13:45, February 21, 2014 (UTC)

Proposal for an update for Youtube embed

Hello! I just came here to show something I made last week. It's a code that adds some new functions to the template Youtube embed, one of them is the possibility of place up to three videos in a page instead of one with the actual version. I made it as another solution for the problem of deciding if place in a song page the official video or a video with the complete version of the lyrics (obviously, if the official one has not the complete lyrics, it's something that often happens). I left a more complete description in the Community Portal.

You can view the code in my Sandbox No. 3 and try it in my Test case No. 3 where I left all ready to start testing, included a detailed documentation. Hope you like it.

Remiaw (talk) 00:11, February 23, 2014 (UTC)

Related, I was going to come here to mention that I've noticed the YouTube embed templates aren't showing up lately. Am I the only one seeing this? XxTimberlakexx (talk) (contribs)20:16, February 23, 2014 (UTC)
To my knowledge, I did not see that happen. Maybe try to clear the cache. There are lots of things I stop seeing because of some bad data loaded. Back to the topic, Xx, you can also test the new template, there's no problem! Later tell me whatever you think about it. Remiaw (talk) 15:01, February 24, 2014 (UTC).
@Nic: Maybe Wikia were playing around? Sean did mention that they might disable YT embed in favour of bop.fm…
PS. Weird, now I see embeds on some pages but not on others…
@Remiaw: (reply moved to CP talk page)6×9 (Talk) 17:47, February 25, 2014 (UTC)
Yes, Nicolas, I saw that you said. I visited with the PC some pages in Daft Punk:... and the YouTube embed doesn't work, I right-clicked its area and the Adobe Player menu displayed "Video does not charged". But earlier I've been editing with tablet and all this don't happened. Remiaw (talk) 19:18, February 25, 2014 (UTC).
I hope that youtube links that are in the footer in the external links section will continue to work. Bop.fm still has some flaws. It sometimes loads a youtube video for the wrong song and/or artist. Also, it sometimes doesn't find the youtube video for a given song because the youtube video doesn't use the title of the song. That's why it's good that users are able to put their own video link in the external link section. --Arwen4CJ Talk 19:24, February 25, 2014 (UTC)
So 6, if what you said is true, Youtube embed is disabled? Gosh, I'm already disliking this Bop.fm extension enough, and then Youtube embed has to be taken down? That's not very practical. If Sean's still in rendezvous with the people in charge of Bop.fm about a feature to disable it, then I don't see why Youtube embed should be disabled if he's still discussing it. It's weird, too, because the template itself isn't deleted or anything. XxTimberlakexx (talk) (contribs)23:14, February 27, 2014 (UTC)
I usually edit with tablet and there YouTube embed works, it demonstrates that it's not disabled yet. Also, I noticed that it still works on Internet Explorer, but not on Google Chrome. Maybe can be a bug in this browser, a bad-implemented code that accidentally doesn't allow the API work in some browsers or an intentionally applied one that tries to block the embed but not functional at all. I don't know. I only want to know: what browser do you use? Remiaw (talk) 01:07, February 28, 2014 (UTC).
  • EYT still works on my box; win7pro64, using FF (27.0.1), IE (10.09) and Chrome (31.0.1650.63).
  • For those who next to me really hates all the "beauties", vainly occupying usefull screen space, I'd recommend to take a look at my user global CSS. Notice the style of div#WikiaRail (a container for bop) - that's why to for a time I couldn't understand what a bop.fm you were talking about ;). You may compare how I see the same Lw page being logged-off and logged-in.

The Mamas & The Papas:Monday, Monday

Hello 6 times 9!

I stumbled some times now about this particular placeholder page, which is protected and cannot be edited by me. I somewhere read that the Gracenote editions of lyrics will be merged with the Lyric Wiki ones - and saw also some merges already by the bots - so I believe the placeholder is no longer necessary. Given that you made an edit at The Mamas & The Papas:Monday Monday, I thought you would be the right person to ask for a merge of the latter to the former page :)

Greetings, --Fassbrause (talk) 01:17, February 28, 2014 (UTC)

I think it's still a bit too early for that; at least, that's how I interpret Sean's message here ("…licensing will change…", emphasis mine). — 6×9 (Talk) 09:00, March 1, 2014 (UTC)

March

question

How is Tiffany Alvord:Possiblilty an orphaned song? It has a typo in the page title, and there's already another page, Tiffany Alvord:Possibility. Thus, I request the page with the typo be deleted, because there's no second version of the song (otherwise I, a Tiffanatic, would know of it), and the bot account keeps adding it to the Tiffany Alvord page. Please!! ♚InspiredAndNatural♚Kristi (message me here) 18:07, March 8, 2014 (UTC)

"Orphaned" means the page had no other page linking to it, and Janitor remedies this by adding a link to the artist page. (See also the entry on Janitor in our FAQ.) Our preferred way to deal with misspelled titles is to move or redirect them to the correct page. Janitor leaves redirects alone. — 6×9 (Talk) 18:36, March 8, 2014 (UTC)

Justin Timberlake:Electric Lady (reverted changes)

Hi 6x9, Why did you revert my changes to the lyrics for Electric Lady by Justin Timberlake back to the original faulty (and incomplete) version? Have you even listened to the song? -145.94.125.71-145.94.125.189 17:15, March 11, 2014 (UTC)

Please don't use notation like "chorus", "verse 2" etc. See Help:Contents/Editing/Formatting/Songs#Lyrics. — 6×9 (Talk) 16:06, March 16, 2014 (UTC)

Something I brought up on the admin portal in August

Hi 6,

So, there was something I brought up on the admin portal back in August only to remove it because I was scared that it would cause a big fiasco...and that was this. Seeing Hard4me's unconstructive edits again lately and having to revert them (e.g. deleting pages with no reason for deletion, making an edit to a song page only to capitalize "YouTube" in youtube embed, ignoring messages, etc.), this is coming back to my mind and I'm thinking we should discuss it now on the portal, but I'm still a little worried. What do you think? XxTimberlakexx (talk) (contribs)13:30, March 12, 2014 (UTC)
I'd noticed the topic on the AP back then and kinda understood why you removed it shortly afterwards – hardly a pleasant topic. But yeah, this will have to be brought up sooner or later, since I kinda doubt at this point that more talk page messages will change much…
Do you want to restore your previous post, or do you want to reword it? — 6×9 (Talk) 16:20, March 16, 2014 (UTC)
I figured it didn't go by completely unnoticed, but you're right, this is definitely something that needs to be brought up soon. The only problem I can see happening is actually breaking the news to Hard4me, because he never even bothers to check his talk page, which bothers me beyond belief.
Anyways, I'll probably reword it, or at least use the base of the very last revision I did of it before removing it. I'll get around to that this weekend, since I've been swamped with work this week. XxTimberlakexx (talk) (contribs)21:12, March 19, 2014 (UTC)
Alright, I just brought it up on the admin portal. *sigh* Feel free to begin the discussion if you have anything to say. XxTimberlakexx (talk) (contribs)13:20, March 22, 2014 (UTC)
So, now that Hard4me's demoted and that little number is over with, should we possibly talk about promoting anyone new? I know it's been quite some time since we did some promotions, and I have some users in mind that I think would be good candidates. XxTimberlakexx (talk) (contribs)21:23, March 24, 2014 (UTC)
You don't need my permission for that :-) Just bring it up on the AP. — 6×9 (Talk) 10:27, March 25, 2014 (UTC)
Heh, good point. Well, I just brought it up on the AP: I listed three users who I think would be good admins, so check out that discussion when you get the time.
Also, quick question while I'm here: how do we deal with situations like these, where a song is a cover of a song by an artist with a country suffix (in this case, Skylark (CA)). In the cover template, it'll link to the proper song page but not the proper artist page. I figured I would need to use the {{!}} template, but it doesn't seem to work within the Cover template. What should I do? XxTimberlakexx (talk) (contribs)21:11, March 25, 2014 (UTC)
I added paramters to tl:Cover etc. to handle cases like these; see here or the template doc. — 6×9 (Talk) 11:49, March 26, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, I just happened to be online when I saw you make the edit - thank you! Smile I also used that for another page that I was having the same problem with. XxTimberlakexx (talk) (contribs)12:01, March 26, 2014 (UTC)

Lyrics page

Hello,

I created the Megan Nicole:Snapshots (Best Days of Our Lives) page, but when I created it, it was tagged as an article that does not follow the wiki's page naming policy. I don't know what to rename it to, as the page name is fine with me, so can you please rename the page to something that follows your page naming policy?

Thank you so much.  ArianaGrandeForever  (talk) 04:55, March 26, 2014 (UTC)

It was already fixed, shortly after you typed your post. Please have a look at LW:PN to see what the trouble was. — 6×9 (Talk) 11:46, March 26, 2014 (UTC)
Oh okay. Thank you for replying, I'll definitely look at the page naming policy once I create a page.  ArianaGrandeForever  (talk) 12:11, March 26, 2014 (UTC)

Hey! Just thought I should let you know that your last edit on Template:GameFeature caused pages with multiple featured games to not show all listed games correctly. For example, Queen:Bohemian Rhapsody and AFI:Miss Murder.

By the way, Template:GameFeature now is identical to Template:GameFeature2? -- 123.2.83.220 10:24, March 26, 2014 (UTC)

Your recent edits of Till to 'Til

I noticed that you edited several songs that I posted yesterday. I copied the lyrics from United Methodist hymnals, and they used the spelling "till" instead of "'til." Both spellings are correct, and both of them mean the same thing.

See this page: [1]

So either spelling is correct. --Arwen4CJ Talk 12:43, March 26, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that. — 6×9 (Talk) 12:55, March 26, 2014 (UTC)

What's the real size of cat?

Take a look at C:AAWA, - it declares having 321 members atm.
The same result (321) returns api.categoryinfo.
But if you try to count the real number of category members, the same api returns... 310 members. And that's the real size of category imo, 'cause C:AAWA seems to be freezed...
Any thoughts? :) --Senvaikis (talk) 16:05, March 26, 2014 (UTC)
Cat page also shows 310 entries – click on "next 200" and you get "The following 110 files are in this category, out of 321 total."
My thoughts on this? Cats are weird. But you know that already :-) Maybe some ghostly images, like certain long-deleted files that refuse to die properly and still show up in Unused/Uncat Files?
We could try removing AAWA detection from tl:albumcover and touching all files in C:AC to see what happens (if we're left with 0 or 11), but I kinda doubt it's worth the effort… — 6×9 (Talk) 16:35, March 26, 2014 (UTC)

I'm afraid that's not just "that-old-good-cat-weirdness" we were familiar with so far. There are other symptoms, indicating some essential impairment of LW health, and one of dirtiest tricks - this error message, occuring on 2/3 of Lwts attempts to edit:

<api servedby="ap-s42">
 <error code="internal_api_error_MWException" info="Exception Caught: FauxRequest::getRequestURL() not implemented" xml:space="preserve" />
</api>

That de facto makes Lwt useless for any batch-task. Let's hope - temporarily, till UB's working hardly... ;) --Senvaikis (talk) 08:20, March 27, 2014 (UTC)

Dunno if the two are related… The API errors might be a result of ÜB hogging system resources while adding all those merge templates. That would also explain why LW is so excruciatingly slow these last few weeks. — 6×9 (Talk) 08:38, March 27, 2014 (UTC)
So you think that cat freezing can't be caused by the same reason? --Senvaikis (talk) 09:40, March 27, 2014 (UTC)
It is possible – maybe even likely. The category table stores # of pages & files, so if the system is overloaded (and MW shoddily programmed – after all, that's what transactions were invented for) this and the actual count might easily get out of sync. In that case, we'd either have to wait until Wikia run the maintenance script or prod them. Little point in doing so before ÜB is done, though. — 6×9 (Talk) 10:32, March 27, 2014 (UTC)

More cat weirdness: Special:UncategorizedPages shows several album pages, all of which are properly formatted (and therefore categorized), and all seem to have been created by Lwt… I guess API has a lot more problems than those error messages you get. — 6×9 (Talk) 11:51, March 29, 2014 (UTC)

That's exactly what I've been trying to say you from the very beginning of this thread: "there are other symptoms, indicating some essential impairment of LW (not only api) health." Api err msg was mentioned just as one of weirdest, looking from the Lwt point of view. Some of these symptoms don't seem to be neither Lwt- nor api-related. So, now you'll not notice any red-link turning into blue just by page refreshing, without page edit/publish. --Senvaikis (talk) 13:05, March 29, 2014 (UTC)

Bruce Cockburn:Slice O' Life (2009)

Hi. On this album, "The Mercenary", "Bearded Folksinger", and "Tramp In The Street" are actually spoken word tracks. I don't believe there should be pages for those. Am I right? -ÂØˇÂ⁄⁄ (talk) 02:56, March 29, 2014 (UTC)

Ah, in that case you're right. Might be a good idea to mark them as such though. Also, if you add "live album" as type you don't have to put " (Live)" after every single track :-) — 6×9 (Talk) 11:03, March 29, 2014 (UTC)
And just after I typed this I was going to fix the album page, only to see that Senv got there before me…

Pavlov's Dog

Hey 6,
Just thought I'd let you know I took lyrics for two songs on Pavlov's Dog's album Lost in America. The entire album was red links and bronzed, and I thought that looked pretty bad, so I at least threw in two blue links among the red Wink I just thought you'd be interested since they were your very first edit here, and it seems like you like them judging by your large amount of work to their page. XxTimberlakexx (talk) (contribs)13:40, April 6, 2014 (UTC)

Hey, thanks! When I added the album all those years ago I meant to eventually transcribe the lyrics, but somehow never got around to it… — 6×9 (Talk) 04:55, April 7, 2014 (UTC)
No prob! Though I can't guarantee I'll be able to transcribe lyrics for the entire album (because the vocalist doesn't exactly sing the clearest on some songs) I'll see what I can do. I also submitted those two song lyrics to other sites so they're at least floating around the Internet now and not just here. Wink BTW, since the album was Bronzed when it was all red-links, you may want to Bronze those two that I created (and any future ones that I create from the album). Cheers, XxTimberlakexx (talk) (contribs)21:32, April 8, 2014 (UTC)

Gumball

Hi, I've got reports on The Amazing World Of Gumball:Fine Lady not existing. They say I need to contact an administrator with proof. Watch this episdoe for proof: The Amazing World Of Gumball Season 1 Episode 3b The Dress

Also all my other pages, except there's a video from Bop. Also someone keeps deleting a photo I put on the page The Amazing World Of Gumball.

There are several problems here: 1. Song pagename should be "Artist:Song Title". "The Amazing World Of Gumball" is obviously not the artist (it's the title of the show). It's also not clear whether "Fine Lady" is the actual song title or just a guess based on the chorus. (Can't make out the credits in the streaming link...) 2. For the same reason, The Amazing World Of Gumball shouldn't be an artist page, but rather a list (like this one for example). 3. When you upload an image, please don't ignore the instructions on the upload page. 4. Please don't replace England with UK as country. — 6×9 (Talk) 19:06, April 15, 2014 (UTC)
I'm very sorry, I'll never do it again, I'm just a little confused, why is Bill Nye here. That's a show, and he dosent sing in the music. On The Amazing World Of Gumball Wiki, they call it Fine Lady. I think you're right, because the youtube video is called she's a lady. thelogoontherunThelogoontherun (talk) 02:20, April 18, 2014 (UTC) PS: What do you mean, song pagename, i called it that, can you explain clearer? Thanks, thelogoontherunThelogoontherun (talk) 02:20, April 18, 2014 (UTC) ;)

Regarding A Great Big World:Say Something

Hi, may I ask, why was Say Something (With Christina Aguilera) merged into Say Something? They do have identical lyrics, but they are in fact two different songs. I'd consider the re-recorded Christina Aguilera version as a cover of the other, but I suppose it doesn't matter too much though. - OneTwoThreeFall talk 07:27, April 28, 2014 (UTC)

Multiple pages for a song by the same artist are normally only allowed if the lyrics differ significantly. If the second version were actually by Christina Aguilera it would be a different matter, but having her as featured artist is not enough of a distinction.
Look at it this way: one page is easier to maintain than two pages. :-) — 6×9 (Talk) 10:47, April 29, 2014 (UTC)
I suppose it is easier. I'll remember that for the next time. Thanks for the help! - OneTwoThreeFall talk 19:16, April 29, 2014 (UTC)

The "Watched by user" category and how many pages are in it

I'm wanting to declare myself as a watcher for some pages to make them worth having a gold rank (particularly the Justin Timberlake songs) and that would make a category called "Watched by Kittygirl7878." However, I don't really want to watch a lot of pages. I've considered watching up to about 30 pages. I've been sifting through the "Watched by user" categories and a lot of them have it to where the user for said category watches over 100 pages, and I don't want to look awkward by having a watch category that only has a few pages. Is it normal for people here to have their own watch categories with a small amount of pages on it? I think some of the JT song pages should have a gold rank, but many of them don't have a watcher. I'd also like to watch some pages that other people are watching too. Our passion is our strength▓ 20:07, April 28, 2014 (UTC)

There's really nothing to worry regarding the number of pages you actively watch. There are also many user watch categories with pages in the 1-digit range. The important thing is that as many pages as possible have someone who takes care they aren't vandalised or have false information inserted. So just go ahead!
For a page to have more than one watcher is also fine (and even desirable, especially for high-traffic pages). The {{watcher}} template currently supports up to seven watchers, and we can increase that if necessary. — 6×9 (Talk) 10:43, April 29, 2014 (UTC)

Hunger Games wikia

Hello! I'm from the Hunger Games wikia, and I was thinking in linking the songs of the soundtracks to their lyrics here in this wikia. Just wanted to ask if that's ok for the admins! Thanks for advance. -- I knew you were trouble when you walked in... or not. (talk) 16:38, May 19, 2014 (UTC)

Why would we object to free advertisement? :-) Sure, go ahead! — 6×9 (Talk) 15:34, May 20, 2014 (UTC)

Lady Gaga:ARTPOP Song

I added the GoEar link to the ARTPOP song page, forgetful me forgot to add it. I hope all is okay now? William (Talk), Bureaucrat of the Lord of Ultima Wiki 07:36, June 9, 2014 (UTC)

Yep, all good now. One thing: just use the 7-character goear ID ("416b1d1" instead of "416b1d1/artpop-lady-gaga"). Senv already fixed it though. — 6×9 (Talk) 12:06, June 9, 2014 (UTC)
Good to know, still kind of figuring out how some things work around here. I just fixed up Breakaway, so go take a look to make sure I didn't miss anything. William (Talk), Bureaucrat of the Lord of Ultima Wiki 14:19, June 9, 2014 (UTC)

Capitalization

Hi. Just wanna say thank you for that explanation that you gave here. I understood well.. Thanks. Songsbr (talk) 15:50, June 16, 2014 (UTC)

EDIT: nvm, talked to XxTimberlakexx and he helped me, thanks!

Thug Angels

Just to clarify my second move of the Thug Angels page, since I can't edit the move summary: the reasoning I presented was that LW:PN didn't have any provisions about indicating different versions of a song, but I had overlooked "Song Pages" section, which specifically says:

A song may use an added notation to distinguish a version that has different lyrics from the original.
EXAMPLE: Fergie:Fergalicious (Radio Edit) and the original Fergie:Fergalicious

so the only problem was capitalization; you should therefore have moved Wyclef Jean:Thug Angels (radio edit) to Wyclef Jean:Thug Angels (Radio Edit), not back to the original title (which caused an edit conflict as I was editing the page to put the full version there). Also, it would have been courteous to link LW:PN, since the unlinked acronym would probably cause confusion to a less experienced user. Anyway, this message is just a clarification for the record. It should all be sorted out now. Cheers, Waldir (talk) 14:54, June 22, 2014 (UTC)

Grammy Awards Categories

Hi, and sorry for troubling :-)
I asked Senvaikis this question, and I wanted to know what you think about this issue. Cheers, Securita (talk) 12:05, June 27, 2014 (UTC)

Same name but lyrics different

Hi, I'm French and my English is bad, sorry, but I'll try to explain what is the problem. Few minutes ago I've edited the lyrics of "Regresso" (Cesaria Evora). This track is in two albums, "Cabo Verde" and "São Vicente", the name is the same but the lyrics are absolutely different.

How can I do? Thanks -- Zacro (talk) 13:14, June 27, 2014 (UTC)

As always, Senv was quicker than me… Policy says: "A song may use an added notation to distinguish a version that has different lyrics from the original." In this case, earlier version gets the "correct" pagename: Cesária Évora:Regresso, while later version has album title added in parentheses: Cesária Évora:Regresso (São Vicente). — 6×9 (Talk) 14:43, June 27, 2014 (UTC)
6 is wrong - I was never as quick in typing as him. That's where this edit conflict came from... Anyways, I'll repost my response, though 6 have explained all the problem :)
Yes, you are right - these songs are totally different, and not only lyrically. Usual LW practice in such case is creating a separate page, adding some version notation to the title of the page. That's what I've donedone, leaving default title for Cabo Verde (as being the first version). Please recheck if my changes were correct (f.e., I'm not sure wich version was included into 2010 compilation).
