Is there any documentation for this template? ∃cho⚡ierr∀ ( ) 19:47, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Is there really need for any? Considering that all it does is insert one character "|"? The people who use it know what it's for, the people who don't know what it's for aren't very likely to look for it in the first place. But if you think there should be documentation, I'll add it. — 6x9 (Talk) 20:15, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Is there any need? you tell me:[1], are you trying to encourage it's use by using it like the example, which has no explanation, or discourage it's use by keeping it undocumented? ∃cho⚡ierr∀ ( ) 20:28, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
If we're going to keep (and use) the Variables extension, I'll add an alias parameter to {{Song}} in the near future (like we have now with {{Album}}), so "normal" users very likely won't need it at all then… But you're probably right. I'll add something then. (It needs a category anyway.) — 6x9 (Talk) 20:36, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
I'm guessing anything that shows up in the middle of the Song template is of interest to everybody who edits song pages, so maybe you can bring it up in the community Portal. Specially since it will be seen and edited by people/widgets who have no clue what it's doing there. Same people who wipe out stars...... ∃cho⚡ierr∀ ( ) 20:55, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
I've added it to the {{Song}} documentation. Since it's likely only a temporary fix (see above), we'd better not make it too public, because the more people use it, the more pages we'll have to edit later. (Now we just have to keep Red from letting her bot loose…) — 6x9 (Talk) 21:24, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
