(interruption) Roger, Caroline's on the phone...

What shall we use to fill the empty
Spaces where we used to talk
How shall I fill the final places
How should I complete the wall1

Notes

  1. The official lyrics replace "should" with "shall"

Alternate Versions

  • "Empty Spaces" is a shortened version of "What Shall We Do Now?" which would not fit on the original album. "What Shall We Do Now?" was used in the film and on the live album. The live album has a track labeled "Empty Spaces" which consists of the first four lines of "What Shall We Do Now?".
