  • This collection — twelve ballads about romantic longing with sweet orchestrations — was the first Sinatra recorded at Capitol without Nelson Riddle, and also his first collaboration with arranger Gordon Jenkins.
  • It was also the first album recorded by Sinatra in stereo (although the stereo version was not issued until February 1959.)
  • The LP reached the Billboard charts on September 14, 1957, where it remained for 29 weeks, peaking at the #3 position.
