Prince's first record label Paisley Park Records (not to be confused with Paisley Park Studios) was founded in 1985 and ceased business in February 1994.

Paisley Park Records was created by Prince in association with, and with partial funding by Warner Bros. Other artists signed to Paisley Park included George Clinton, Sheila E., Carmen Electra, The Family, Jill Jones, Madhouse, Mavis Staples and The Time. When Warner cut Paisley Park's distribution, Prince founded in 1994 NPG Records.
