Jazz label established in New York by Bob Thiele in 1969 as Flying Dutchman Productions. The label was initially distributed by Atco, switched to Bob Shad's Mainstream Records, Inc. for distribution within two years. By 1979, the label's output was leased by RCA Victor, which continued to issue material from Flying Dutchman's catalog until 1984.
