Just saw that Metal Archives is being reformatted to only feature "good" bands. I'm so bummed. 😢Read more >

You might recognize me from Wikipedia where I've created dozens of music-related articles. If you're familiar with my work, you've probably figured that I'm a sucker for those really rare one-off musical projects featuring members of other more well-known groups. I'm really glad to have found this wiki so that I can continue to promote those rarities to all my fellow geeks. Lol.Read more >
There is the obvious: his unique, beautiful voice and his amazing ability to handle it. And he is genuine, he's from a time when there was no autotune. Then the fact that he and his band mates from a-ha went to England from Norway to realize their dream of becoming successful musicians - when it was a given at home that Norwegian musicians could never make it internationally. Seems they just didn't subscribe to this notion and firmly believed in themselves. And they were right. And with all the insane hype that broke loose around them - especially Morten - it never went to their heads.
In the second half of the 80s no one produced (involuntarily) more screaming, fainting girls than Morten. His fans made the traffic at Picadilly Circus stop.…Read more >

So, uh...'s "" has lyrics. Surprise?
Well, they may not quite be lyrics, but what I thought was random vocoder noises are actually words. What's more, the words are different on all three albums. Essentially, all three versions are kind of an introduction of the band members at the time, from what I can tell. I find it kind of interesting, given the changes the band and its lineup underwent between versions. Anyways, here's what I have so far on the versions individually, if anyone's interested:
-I can't quite understand the original version on ' outside of the opening "We are Polysics" that's present in all three versions and mentions of POLY-1, POLY-2, POLY-3, and POLY-4, the codenames the band used prior to POLY-2's departure after the rele…Read more >
I am not a huge synth pop fan, but back in the 80s they did some creative stuff with synthesizers. A-ha, anyway, was never a band who only used synthesizers. And they have this incredible singer in Morten Harket, so they could make use of demanding melodies. For more than 30 years now, Morten has been one of the singers I have admired the most. I love his voice, I love his singing, his vocal range is amazing.
The only complete album of them I own is East Of The Sun, West Of The Moon. I bought it back then. It's a rather acoustic album.
After starting to enjoy a-ha's MTV Unplugged album earlier this year, I went on a journey through all their albums, listening into all the songs. And I found lots of gems I didn't really know before. It was li…Read more >

I had originally meant to wait until I had finished adding 's albums to make this post. However, I had some more thoughts come up, and I have the feeling that I may not be able to remember everything by the time I get the last three albums up. Especially as I can't guarantee that I can consistently add one album a day.
In any case, I indeed have three albums left to add to Nate's page at the time of writing this. He has another in the works right now, and while there's no indication of a release date, I'm merely taking a guess that he will aim to release it on March 1st, 2018, following the pattern of and Sandcastle Kingdoms. Whatever the case, I'm definitely excited to hear more from Nate and will do what I can to get the lyrics up ASAP!
